v5.1.24 no recovery notifications

Fixed in v5.1.23 — recovery notifications were being silently dropped when settings were updated via the API (commit 9b531c5). Please upgrade to 5.1.23 if you haven't already. Closing.

Quick update after testing the new release.

I have upgraded to v5.1.24 and the issue still persists.

Observed behavior:

• Alert notifications are sent correctly when the alert is triggered.
• When the condition returns to normal, no recovery/resolved notification is sent.

This behavior is consistent with what I observed in the previous versions I reported.

Environment:

• Pulse version: v5.1.24
• Agent version: v5.1.24
• Deployment: Proxmox VE (LXC)
• Image: rcourtman/pulse:5.1.24

Please let me know if there is anything specific I should test or if you would like logs to help troubleshoot the issue.

Thanks for following up. The v5.1.23 fix prevents future saves from silently disabling recovery notifications, but it doesn't repair configs that were already corrupted by the bug.

Could you check Settings → Alerts → Notifications and look for a "Send recovery notifications" (or "Resolved alerts") toggle? It may be showing as disabled.

If it is, enabling it and saving should resolve the issue. The previous bug would silently set it to off whenever any alert setting was saved from an older frontend — it wouldn't have been obvious that it happened.

Thanks for your reply.

I’ve tried what you suggested. I checked Settings → Alerts → Notifications and verified the Send recovery notifications / Resolved alerts option. I also tried disabling it, saving the configuration, then enabling recovery notifications again from Settings → Alerts → Recovery, and saving once more.

Unfortunately, the recovery notification for a VM state change still does not work. It seems the issue persists on our side.

At the moment it looks like there is still a bug affecting the recovery notifications for VM alerts. We have not been able to get the recovery state notifications to trigger.

We are very interested in deploying Pulse in production in our infrastructure, so we are waiting for these fixes with some urgency in order to proceed.

This should be fixed in v5.1.25-rc.1. If you can, please test that release specifically and let me know whether it resolves the issue.
