Unfortunately our underlying dependencies all require Python 3.12+, so we also have that set as our floor for version support. I don't think we'll be able to lower this in the immediate future.

For now, we run on Python 3.12, 3.13, and will be adding support for 3.14 in the coming months as it approaches release. Upgrading to a one of these versions of Python should unblock you to use the aws-sdk-bedrock-runtime client.

Thanks for your reply. I want to add the Nova sonic to the Open source(https://github.com/TEN-framework/TEN-Agent) feature. But the Open source defualt Python version is 3.10. I try to connect with the author of TEN-Agent, but they worry update python version maybe exist some uncertain compatibility.

The TEN-Agent is a popular open source. I have add Amazon nova as a realtime mutimodal assisant, I also wanna add the new Nova sonic too.

This repository is entirely code generated, there's no code being authored here. All testing, type checking, and linting is done at build time and you can audit the code generator in https://github.com/smithy-lang/smithy-python. @nateprewitt as Python community we can't help you with your code generator on Java. I think it's a bad strategic movement.
I don't want to install Java, Gradle and other stuff just to test a new prototype for S3 client. Currently we have the botocore which outdated, sync and bloated, also very unstable and not official aiobotocore and new prototype which generated by Java.
Python support in AWS ecosystem is shame for company like Amazon.

You're spending millions building a shiny agent framework to try and copy Google and OpenAI which no one will use because the primary thing people want from agent frameworks is model/provider agnosticism.

And yet here we are asking for no brainer, routine improvements to fundamental libraries. And you don't seem to be getting how bad the situation currently is.

I was speaking to a journalist about AWS's attempts to catch up in AI two days ago, I feel like sending them this issue as an example of the problem.
