how to create amd64 container in 64-bit linux mode?

I get

$ container run -a amd64 -it ubuntu:22.04 bash
$ lscpu
Architecture:             x86_64
  CPU op-mode(s):         32-bit

any ideas how to fix that?

probably it would help me if I could replace emulation with QEMU somehow cause the reason I am asking is that I am getting:

illegal hardware instruction
